Purpose of Installation

The memorial monument was reconstructed in Dec. 15, 1977 in order to remember the war heroes from Gapyeong who sacrificed their lives during the Korean War and Memorial Day services are held every year here.

Information

The Memorial Monument was erected in Eubnae 8ri in Gapyeong-gun on June 6, 1972 but due to the expanded urban area and noise caused by it, it was determined that the sanctity to the war dead would be destroyed. Thus on December 15, 1977 , it was reconstructed at its current location and memorial services are held in honor of the heroes that protected the country on June 6 of every year. .
