Jijang Jang Yong-hun made traditional Korean paper with late father Jang Sae-gweon (1900~1966) at Geumcheon-ri, Sunchang-gun in Jeonbuk. After the Korean War, they founded a traditional Korean paper company called Shinil Hanji at Gugo-ri, Cheongung-myeon, Im-sil-gun in Jeonju and moved the plant to Sacheon-ri, Cheonpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun and has focused only on producing traditional Korean paper.
Jang Yong-hun produces traditional Korean paper by hanging one side of the thread on one foot and making it by moving the foot in all four directions to enhance the quality of the paper. Though he persists only on making traditional Korean paper, he continues research and experiments to make different colors using natural dyes and placing various patterns in them. He is passing down his paper-making techniques to his two sons to continue the family legacy of making traditional Korean paper.
